The village of Frogmore at the head of one of the many quiet creeks in Kingsbridge Estuary.
Boats have been built and repaired at the head of the creek, which once had busy quaysides, exporting large quantities of slate, cider and barley. For centuries there were large slates quarries exporting stone via the estuary, including the stone used to build Dartmouth Castle. Along the creek there are old limekilns, some of which have been restored. Lime was imported at high tide and burn in kilns along the foreshore before being used on the land.
The village has its own bakery, serving a large area and one inn but has no church since the village only has its origins in the sixteenth century. Inland are the villages of Sherford and Charleton, with Chillington to the east. The village is on the coastal road from Kingsbridge to Dartmouth, which was once a turnpike road.
