Malborough Church, its tower and spire are a notable landmark on the South Hams sklyine. The church is large and was once the 'mother church' for the small fishing village of Salcombe. (Salcombe lacked its own church until the mid nineteenth century). Today Malborough is a large village with a strong sense of community and a diversity of both events and organisations. Nearby are Bolberry, Bolberry Down, South Huish and Soar.

The village of Malborough is divided into 'Higher Town' and 'Lower Town'. In recent years the village has expanded beyond its old limits with many new houses on new developments such as Cumber Close. Within the older parts of the village there are two busy inns, shops, garages and a large village hall capable of holding a variety of events. Each year the village holds a musical festival, The Malborough Music Festival.
