| | | Facing
east, and exposed to the sea, life in the fishing village of Beesands was
never easy. Beesands is probably the most genuine and unspoilt of all the
villages within the area. Its small cottages and open aspect are now complemented
by a large village green.

Ley, a nature reserve and beyond, just above the beach is the windswept
pitch of Beesands Rovers, bastions of local village football.
| Inland
from Beesands is the small village of Beeson, the original settlement. In
the valley bottoms there are osier beds, once used by the villagers to make
their crab and lobster pots. The fishermen had small strips of land along
the cliffs to help their families survive.
